Calculate Fore Bearing from Deflection Angle

By | January 22, 2022

First of all, make sure you are working in Degree Mode in Scientific Calculate, I suggest Calculator Casio FX-100MS

Rules: –

Here are some very important Rules, that you have to understand and consider during whole process

1- Unit of Angle measure is Degree
2- If you find any answer more than 360, then minus 360 from the result
3- If you find answer in – Sign than you have to solve with +360

First of all, calculate fore bearing of line A to O with the help of given coordinates and  keep in mind we need fore bearing of AO Line using any scientific calculator,
Coordinates of A = E 1000 O= E 918.878
               N 5000      N 5088.628

Note: – If you need Fore Bearing from A to O, you need to deduct coordinates from O to A, then you can find correct Fore Bearing from A to O, you can find this details using Polar method in scientific calculator

Distance = Pol (Northing O-Northing A, Easting O-Eating A)

Note: – Whatever answer is press RCL+Tan, if answer is in + Sign then ok, otherwise type +360, this will be your fore bearing from A to O

Fore Bearing = RCL+ Tan, if answer + then ok otherwise +360 as I mentioned above.

Result is
Distance = 120.149 m
Fore bearing =-42°-28″-5.33″

Calculations

Note:-AO, AB, BC, CD, DE & EF are lines of a traverse

————————————————————-
AO- Fore Bearing

-42°-28″-5.33″ (Fore bearing is in minus sign, add +360°
+360°-0″-0″
——————-
317°-31″-54.6″

________________________________________
AB- Fore Bearing
317°-31″-54.6″
+98°-50′-8″ (for Clockwise add this angle into previous fore bearing)
——————-
416°-22′-2.6″ (as this is more than 360°, then minus 360° from this
-360°-0′-0″
——————
56°-22′-2.6″

________________________________________
BC- Fore Bearing
56°-22′-2.6″
+53°-38′-38″ (for Clockwise add this angle into previous fore bearing)
——————-
110°-0′-40.6″

________________________________________
CD- Fore Bearing
110°-0′-40.6″
-43°-39′-51″ (for Anti Clockwise add this angle into previous fore bearing)
——————-
66°-20′-49.6″

________________________________________
DE- Fore Bearing

66°-20′-49.6″
+60°-20′-9″ (for Clockwise add this angle into previous fore bearing)
——————-
126°-40′-58.6″

____________________________________
DE- Fore Bearing
126°-40′-58.6″
-130°-58′-45.2″ (for Anti Clockwise add this angle into previous fore bearing)
——————-
-4°-17′-46.6″ (since this fore bearing is in minus sign, you need to +360°)
+360°-0′-0″
——————-
355°-42′-13.4″
